Flint Area Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses Meetup Group

In Dec 2006 I attended the Detroit Area Meetup and was so encouraged to meet with people who truly understand "our" situation I decided to try to have a meeting in the Flint Area - so here goes!!! Ideally a group where ex-Jehovah's Witnesses, current active Jehovah's Witnesses and any family members/significant others can meet to discuss their unique experiences having been involved with the Watchtower Society in a safe/secure environment. Being a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses religion brings with it unique issues and experiences that those who have not been associated with the faith will find it hard to relate. Not a group of "apostate opposers" but rather a group of people who have decided that there is a life to live outside of the total control of the society. To this end the group will hopefully offer to some a first step in their difficult personal journey as well as an insight into others who have been able to build a life "outside". When people meet with common issues they can form a support group which can aid "recovery" - this is my hope for this group and without your participation there is no group so please come along and meet others who understand.

we have met at Sorrentos before and it works well for our group as they will take reservations - also the menu is very reasonalble also great food! meeting time is a little earlier than before at 5.30 - hope everyone can make it - see you there!
