In Dec 2006 I attended the Detroit Area Meetup and was so encouraged to meet with people who truly understand "our" situation I decided to try to have a meeting in the Flint Area - so here goes!!!

Ideally a group where ex-Jehovah's Witnesses, current active Jehovah's Witnesses and any family members/significant others can meet to discuss their unique experiences having been involved with the Watchtower Society in a safe/secure environment.

Being a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses religion brings with it unique issues and experiences that those who have not been associated with the faith will find it hard to relate. Not a group of "apostate opposers" but rather a group of people who have decided that there is a life to live outside of the total control of the society. To this end the group will hopefully offer to some a first step in their difficult personal journey as well as an insight into others who have been able to build a life "outside". When people meet with common issues they can form a support group which can aid "recovery" - this is my hope for this group and without your participation there is no group so please come along and meet others who understand.
